Carpenter’s cult classic found widespread European critical acclaim, despite it’s initial lukewarm reception in the USA. Very good rolled condition.

Spanish-Italian-German co-production sees a very different version of Bram Stoker’s character to the one portrayed by Lee in the Hammer series and was advertised at the time as the most faithful adaptaion of the novel ever filmed. This rare quad is in excellent original condition with only the very lightest fold wear.

When Countess Elizabeth Bathory (Ingrid Pitt) discovers that bathing in the blood of virgin girls will keep her eternally young and beautiful and goes on a murder spree. First release one sheet and apart from the usual fold wear US posters have, is in very good condition.

Palance stars in this somewhat batty Hammer/Amicus horror cash-in as a psychotic axe-weilding antiques and curios dealer who sacrifices ‘dolly-birds’ to an ancient African fetish… as one does of course. Suitably lurid original 1st release standalone quad, and apart from some slight fold ageing, is in very good condition.

Jimmy Sangster’s psychological thriller in which an American student (Powers) is terrorised by a drug addicted crazy (Olsen) and his dotty family. Slight edge nick on the left hand border, otherwise this scarce standalone quad is in very good condition and presents well.

Superb original rolled condition.










DANCE OF THE VAMPIRES

Comedy-horror about a vampire hunter (MacGowran) and his hapless assitant (Polanski) trying to rescue Sarah (Tate, in her last role before being brutally murdered by the fanatical Manson cult) from the clutches of Count von Krolock (Mayne). Overall great condition with just slight surface paper loss bottom corners, which has been colour matched to take the eye off. Very scarce poster.

GIANT FROM THE UNKNOWN

1950′s schlock-horror most notable for featuring make-up by Universal great Jack Pierce. The film would have had a very limited release in the UK and screenprinted posters such as this were produced in extremely low numbers, most likely less than 200 in total, so this could well be the last surviving copy of this very rare quad.

Shot back-to-back with ‘Fiend Without a Face’ and set in Victorian London, the film sees a novelist, Rankin (Karloff), launch an investigation to prove that a notorious brutal killer, was in fact innocent, but his obsession takes a very gruesome turn when the killings start again. Pinholes and slight ageing, otherwise this scarce style A quad displays very well.

Very stylish and superior Hammer horror featuring a Freudian psychiatrist (Porter) who discovers the daughter of Jack the Ripper (Rees), who he then protects in the name of science when she goes on a murderous spree, ultimately to his bloody cost. An extremely scarce quad as the film would only have had a very limited release in the UK, so few would have been printed. Apart from slight bleed through in the title, the poster is in excellent condition.










HORROR EXPRESS

A Spanish/British horror co-production set on the Trans-Siberian Express, which adds nicely to the claustrophobic atmosphere. Lee and Cushing lend the picture ‘horror star’ weight as the main protagonists and the film is now seen by many horror fans as something of a minor-classic. Highly collectible scarce original quad in excellent condition with superb artwork.










HORROR OF DRACULA

Hammer’s follow up to ‘The Curse of Frankenstein’ (1956) broke all box office records, made international names of its two stars and set Hammer up as the house of horror. 1st release military base US one sheet. Apart from slight aging and some text under the title, it’s in good presentable condition.

I know, because I sewed it back myself!’. Apart from slight aging and a couple of edge tears, this is in great condition.

Scholck master Herman Cohen’s cult 1950s B movie classic that brings teenage angst and lycanthropy together. The quad poster is based on the US one sheet artwork and is in excellent original condition.










JAWS

Spielberg’s big screen adaptation of Peter Benchley’s bestseller about a man-eating shark terrorising a small seaside resort. One of the most famous films in motion picture history it broke all box office records and ran for years. This is from the re-release and is in superb condition with the famous Kastel artwork.










KING KONG

THE grandaddy of all ‘monster movies’, it still reigns tall above all other pretenders and is rightly regarded as a true cinema masterpiece, with Willis O’Brien’s animation still, nearly 90 years later, a landmark tour-de-force. This is from a re-release, likely to be c.mid-70s to cash in on the 1976 remake in very good condition.










LEGEND OF THE WEREWOLF / VAMPIRE CIRCUS

Fantastic double bill featuring one of Tyburn’s best and one of Hammer’s latter day best too! With great artwork by Vic Fair (he did both illustrations) this is in excellent original condition and displays superbly.










MADHOUSE

Amicus horror pairing Vincent Price and Peter Cushing, together for the first time, which sees them respectively playing an old horror actor (such a stretch) and a writer trying to revieve the formers character Dr Death, but things go wrong when the murders start. A couple of pinholes, otherwise good condition.










MANIAC

A Frenchwoman (Gray) persuades a holidaying American painter (Matthews) to help spring her blow-torch wielding husband (Houston) out of the local asylum. This is the very scarce original release quad with striking artwork. Prior to backing it had light handling and some tape burn to the borders, but now displays extremely well.










NIGHT MONSTER

A man (Morgan) uses mind over matter to replace his legs, then hunts down the doctor (Atwill) who took them. Although with star billing, Lugosi and Atwill only have minor roles. This is for a late 50s/early 60s re-release and is in excellent condition.










NIGHT OF THE EAGLE

Stylish supernatural thriller sees Wyndgarde as a professor lecturing about the nonsense of superstition only to find that his wife is practising a kind of voodoo and when he insists all her black magic paraphernalia be destroyed their world starts to fall apart in a series of creepy incidents. Apart from very slight edge wear, in excellent condition.

Psychological thriller from the House of Hammer sees Jennie Linden’s character tormented by nightmares about her institutionalized mother. The X cert has been blanked out, typical of posters used in Ireland, but due to the design is not really noticeable, otherwise in excellent original condition.

Horror thriller set in 17th century England about the children of a village slowly converting into a coven of devil worshipers. Stylishly shot with a real air of impending evil, this was Wymark’s last film before his untimely death. Very good original condition.

Director Whale’s follow-up to his hugely successful ‘Frankenstein’ (1931) is rightly considered a masterpiece and the pinnacle of the Universal horror cycle. This is an extremely rare original handbill (7 7/8″ x 10″) from the first release. These would have been produced in relatively low numbers and distributed in the local area to the cinema, so almost none have survived.

Wolves and werewolves lurk throughout the dreams of young Rosaleen (Patterson), who imagines that she must journey through a dark forest to live with her grandmother (Lansbury). Jordan’s stylish nightmare gothic fantasy horror. Excellent original rolled condition, with much better artwork than the quad.

Based on a short story by Robert (Psycho) Bloch, “The Skull of the Marquis de Sade”, pairing Cushing and Lee once again in a Hammeresque tale of terror and murder. Original first release standalone quad with pinholes to the corners otherwise in very good condition.

An elderly couple (Karloff and Lacey) use a new method of hypnosis to share in the experiences of others. A bored young man (Ogilvy), serves as their surrogate in acts which become more and more amoral and violent. Penultimate film of the troubled director Reeves before his untimely death in 1969. Slight ageing, but displays well.

Loose adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story, scripted by Brain ‘The Avengers’ Clemens, starring Payne and Corri, who would later feature together again 12 years later in Hammer’s ‘Vampire Circus’. Tape burn to borders, otherwise this very scarce original first release quad displays well.

The artwork is clearly influenced by the New Wave kitchen-sink drama’s of the period. Prior to backing this had paper loss upper and lower right corners, but now displays superbly.

First in Hammer’s Karnstein trilogy (which included ‘Twins of Evil’ and the risible ‘Lust for a Vampire’) loosely based on Sheridan le Fanu’s book sees Ingrid Pitt as the lesbian vampire Carmilla, a role which cemented her as a horror star. Apart from marker covering the cert X (typical of posters used in Ireland) this 1st release is in superb condition.

In the third of the series, Fu Manchu (Lee), along with his crazy daughter Lin Tang (Chin), try to take over the world (once again), aided and abetted by a cunning double of his Scotland Yard nemesis, Nayland Smith (Wilmer). Some ageing, miss-folds, various pinholes to corners and slight fold wear, otherwise displays well.

This is the incredibly scare original US first general release version. A later version, that uses the same artwork but with a different tag line at the top, is often mistakenly sold as the original, when in fact it’s from an undated re-release. Superb condition and an absolute must for any serious collector.
